December 21st, 2014

Hey dudsons,

There's three more days until Christmas!  I think my family is inviting some family friends over to my house to celebrate on that day.  I realized that the older you get, the less presents you get.  It is such a sad realization; now, I won't have many presents to open to get that exciting feeling when I open one.  Oh, how I wish I could be a little kid again.

Speaking of Christmas, I finally found the time to decorate the Christmas tree!  We already put it up, but I was just to lazy to decorate it.  I feel proud of my accomplishment and at least I didn't procrastinate until the last minute to decorate.  I made some ornaments at my godparents' house, and I hung that up as well.  I feel even prouder, since everything seems better if you make it yourself.
Also, I found the time to wrap up all the presents and make all the Christmas cards.  Now, all I need to do is send them off.  I like wrapping presents; it has the same pleasant feeling as when you open one.

In Chinese culture, today is Dongzhi festival or also known as the Chinese winter solstice festival.  This is sometimes called the Chinese thanksgiving, according to trusty ole Wikipedia.  This is the first time my family actually celebrated it too.

We went to this Chinese mall called Parker Place to buy some BBQ fried pork and the line was long, since other people needed it too to celebrate the Dongzhi festival.  It was at least a half hour wait.  The line went out the store and in front of other stores.  It was such a tedious and monotonous wait.  I left my parents and wandered around the mall.  I was staring at these women doing manicures, until they realized I was there looking like a creeper.  I ran off, their dirty looks haunting me.

Since we had some extra time on our hands, we went to SportChek to buy a Christmas gift for my other friend, whom I shall not name.  I also bought this bag and my mom bought another sports bag too.

My family invited my grandparents over to have dinner to celebrate the Dongzhi festival.  We had lobster, fish, chicken, fried pork, and other Chinese dishes as well.  My mom's friend came by, and she bought us a cake!  Yummy.....

Happy Dongzhi festival, peeps!
