Hey dudsons!
Tomorrow's Halloween! I plan to go trick-or-treating this year, like I always do. I'm still thinking where I should go though... Tonight's also the Masquerade dance at the school. I'm not going though, since a lot of my friends aren't. Plus, I'm not the type to dance and mingle.
Really short blog today... I have a lot of homework to do, as mentioned in the last blog.
Started knitting in applied skills and it was pretty fun rolling the balls of yarn.
Got a last-minute costume that I just totally made up. It's a 1900s lady thingy, or a witch.
I have a french test tomorrow, a project proposal for science, a diagram for science, and french postcard.
Got to go!
Bye!

I went to Stickboy today at the Vancouver Elizabeth Playhouse! It was a really dynamic and intriguing performance, and everything was in sync. The emotions in the performance were very strong and you could feel the anger and sadness of the characters. The main character's thoughts and actions exemplifies what most bullies and victims feel and most people in the audience could connect to that. The graphics and animations in the background also appeal to me. They were interesting and created a movie-type feeling. The music was also good too. Most of it was performed live and the sound effects were awesome. Anyways, during the performance, I really felt sympathy for the main character, since he was being bullied and there was nothing he could do to stop it. I couldn't really understand what the characters were saying since they were opera singing it, but luckily, there were captions on a screen above the stage. The actors' voices were really loud and I believed that they didn't use speakers. Overall, this show really boosted my impression of operas in general.
However, we went to the opera on bus today, and we were almost late! We had to run, after we got off the bus and I was not keen to run. We made it on time though, and that's what matters the most. I prefer going on the car though. At least there's a GPS. :)
When we came back, Amy, Sab, and I waited for the bus, but then we saw Michael and Chloe walking, and we decided to follow them to the sky train station. But Micheal seemed to not know where he was going and we ended up going back to the bus station. We totally wasted ten minutes of our lives. Fortunately, we didn't walk really far, so we easily located where our designated bus stop was. We waited for about five minutes until the bus came along. However, it was "too full" and passed by us. To me, it wasn't even that full; we're small and we could easily fit in. I wonder if the bus driver did that on purpose. So we waited for another ten minutes and then finally the bus came. I was so relieved because I was in a rush to go back home. At around four, I finally came back home. Home sweet home. Plus, I was hungry and thirsty, so I quickly searched for food and water when I came back.
I have a lot of academic stress right now. I have to finish a really thick book for science and I'm not even half way through. I have to finish the story by Friday. Additionally, I have to do a proposal on it and that's the part that's got my brain panicking. The book is actually quite interesting, but I have one complain: it's too long. I'm sad. Is the teacher trying to torture me?

Hey dudsons,
Today was just an ordinary day, but for some reason I'm in a grumpy and cranky mood. I'm suspecting it's because my brother was annoying me while I tried to finish up on some hard homework. I hate it when people disturb me when I'm doing things, whether it be homework, playing a game, etc. Well if you talk to me, it's okay, but if you annoy me, I'll yell at you.
We had a short story test on The Decision and some parts of it was tricky. Some of the words we didn't learn, and I'm pretty sure I messed up on one of the true or false questions.
Tomorrow in the afternoon, we're going on another field trip! We're going to see a opera called Stickboy at the Queen Elizabeth Theater in downtown. It sounds like a really interesting story about bullying. There's going to be a lot of animation and singing too. One thing I dread tomorrow: the bus. I have a constant fear of getting lost and not being there on time and that happens every time. Well it happens every time when I'm NOT with my mom and dad. You always get a sense of security when they're around. Another reason why I'm worried is because I'm not too familiar with downtown due to the fact that every time I go there, my dad drives and I don't really notice which way we're going. Also, I don't live near there too. Anyways, I hope the opera is good...
I'm really glad that for applied skills, Mr. Olson pushed the due date back, so we have more time to organize everything. We still need to do one more experiment at school, sometime next week. For today's class we kind of goofed off a bit, but we still planned some things out.
Last blog, I said that the community center invited me to go to the National Women's soccer game tonight. Guess what? I didn't go. My mom said that I had homework and the weather was bad. It's not much of a big deal, but a tiny, tiny part of me still wants to go. Amy said that she got free yummy food, jersey, and scarf. Canada was against Japan, but Canada lost. :( To be honest, I don't really like soccer as a sport; it's not that interesting like hockey, but even then I think hockey is boring. No offense to soccer people!
So I was digging in my wallet for some reason, and I found a special coin. It's the two dollar 2014 Wait for Me Daddy coin that was being traded at Oakridge centre. I already have the "case" for it that I got from the mall, since they were handing it out. Now let's just wait for this coin to sart getting valuable....heehee...

Hey dudsons,
Now onto the official blog! Today was a school day, which meant that I had to wake up early again. I hate Mondays; on the Sundays, I get adjusted to sleeping in, and then Monday comes in and breaks it up. I saw this picture on Facebook that said, "I'm in love with sleep, but my alarm clock keeps breaking us up." I can totally relate to that. Alarm clocks are cruel... :(
Apparently, there's a pumpkin pie eating contest at school. LOL! I would consider joining for fun if it was just girls, but it's probably not. Additionally, I hate pumpkin pie. Something about the cinnamon taste clashes with the pumpkin taste and it's just too sweet for my liking. If it was apple pie, then I'll be okay, because apple pie is just plainly delicious.
So today we got back our science fair proposals. Some people made it, some had to start over, but none of us got approved. I made it, but I have to elaborate on a lot more on my proposal. We also have to read a book, in science, but I think the project that we're doing with the book is too much of a English assignment. Science isn't my most favorable class..
My PE teacher was nice today. He didn't let us go outside to run, which is a good thing. We still ran inside though. Actually, we played basketball, so today's PE class was bad. I hate basketball. My arms are too weak to support such a heavy basketball. Plus, I'm not that tall, so the hoop is way beyond my reach. I consider tall people to play basketball easier, thus why there are only tall people in the NBA league. Whoever saw a short person play basketball in the big leagues... no one!
We also showed our postcards to the teacher for French today. I felt bad for one guy who didn't exactly do a good job on his postcard on got criticized by the teacher. That feeling isn't good, especially right in front of your peers. (embarrassing!)
For socials, we continued on our world maps. I like labeling and coloring maps; it reminds me of the good ole times in elementary school where we coloured maps and it was fun. The good ole days...
After school, I was supposed to volunteer at the community center for the junior youth council, but I had to practice piano for my piano class later today. I was supposed to sell doughnuts, and according to Amy we sold all of them! A six-dollar revenue! Plus, we got treated to a National Women's soccer game tomorrow night from five to ten. There's also free food and a free jersey! :) However, if I have too much homework, I'll stay home (sadly) because the game takes up five hours of my "precious" homework time. I hope I get to go, even though I'm not really interested in soccer.
Piano class was just practicing my test pieces. I signed up for a piano test for some day in January next year. I have to play five songs in total (including studies) and do technical stuff (clapbacks, playbacks, scales, etc.) Sometimes, piano is just a stressful thing.
Oh yeah, I was planning to do a 'why' blog soon, but I keep forgetting. Should I do one?

Hi dudsons!
My first missed blog! How scary! Therefore, this blog will be about yesterday. (I don't know if this counts though...)
So, yesterday I didn't go swimming because I didn't feel that good, so I just worked on my French postcard homework. I think this homework is leaning off to the art side more than the French side though. My French teacher takes the art part really serious; AKA, you must have hard paper and must be neat and tidy..no exceptions.
So in the period between ten to five o'clock, I was pretty much doing homework the whole time, and slacking off a bit too! Admit it, every one gets sidetracked a little when there're doing homework, especially when the iPad and the TV are just sitting there.
I can definitely feel the pressure of high school now. Yesterday, I had science, socials, and French homework. Fortunately, they were all easy to finish. Imagine, the homework load later in the year; I'll probably have more homework than what I'm capable of.
Food review time! Around five, we went to eat sushi at Kiku sushi at Burnaby, near Metrotown, with family friends. I personally love sushi. If you read one of my earliest blogs, I ate there there too last month. I like that place because there specialty rolls are very good, as well as the classics, such as California roll. I enjoy the Winter California/Dynamite and the Metro Roll. The Winter California and Dynamite roll is basically California roll with a scallop/mayonnaise/cheese baked on top of it. The Metro roll has fried shrimp and spicy tuna and fried stuff in it. It's really good! Also, the sashimi there is good and cheap too. They have gigantic slices and it's really fresh! In case you want to go there, the address is 4986 Kingsway, Burnaby, BC, V5H 2E2.
Oh yeah, the reason I forgot to blog yesterday was because I think I was too tired and ended up forgetting about it. Actually, I did remember, but only when it was twelve o'clock at night and I couldn't sleep. Funny thing about me: sometimes I'm really tired, but at night I can't sleep. Anyways, sorry, peeps for not blogging yesterday!

Hi dudsons,
Today I went to Chinese school. We prepared for the mid-term test next week today, but I'm still nervous for it. No matter how much you prepare, tests will always be scary.
Afterwards, I went to this Vietnamese restaurant to eat pho. It wasn't very good, as the beef had a stale taste to it. The soup was okay though. I prefer Thai Son for Vietnamese pho; their food is always consistent!
My family and my I went to this chinese restaurant in Richmond called Ningbo Seafood Restaurant to celebrate my aunt's birthday. I went there many times and it usually is pretty good, but today they said the chef was sick and there was a replacement chef. So, the food was mediocre. The lobster was a little bit flavourless and the cream sauce was a little bit watery. Sorry guys, I'm being very critical of my food today. The only thing that I really enjoyed was the mango mousse cake we bought and the complimentary pumpkin dessert. Nothing can ever go wrong with mango!
Afterwards, we just took a walk around a supermarket and then went home. It was pouring outside and it seems like the rest of the week will be too. I wonder if I have to run outside tomorrow for PE. My teacher is pretty nice, but maybe he's the type of teacher that's really nice in the beginning and unleashes his evilness after we think he's nice...
For some reason, I have a stomach ache today and it's really bothering me. I hate stomach aches; they make me feel like I want to throw up and most times it makes me not in the mood for homework.
I heard on the news about the Parliament Hill shooting. RIP Cpl. Nathan Cirillo. At least the gunman was shot and killed. I hate stories involving people randomly shooting or doing stupid stuff. In the end, they hurt and kill a lot of innocent people, and are probably going to end up dead themselves anyway. People need better judgment these days.
Today was a okay day. The food I ate today wasn't really good and I have a stomach ache. Hope tomorrow's better!

Hey dudsons,
Early blog today! Today's a pro-d day, so students don't need to go to school while teachers do. I got to sleep in and watch TV shows instead of waking up for school when the sun didn't even come up yet. Anyways, today is the day that we went out and asked people to help us do our experiment. Luckily, it did not rain (as I suspected), but it was really cold. Even though I had a jacket on, I was freezing. Anyways, we decided to set up outside of our school. We started at about eleven o'clock and ended at about one-thirty. We successfully had ten people to do our survey, even though there were not that much people roaming around. A lot of people rejected us more than people who actually wanted to do it. Near the end, we got bored, so we started waving to people in cars with the rubber hand and dancing. Some people ignored us, but some other's reactions were quite funny. A little girl saw us and even made her dad come back to ask us what we were doing and ended up being one of our experimenters. The funny thing is, when we were packing up, a group of people walked by. What bad timing we had. So basically, we goofed around most of the time and spent 20 percent of the time doing work, since there was so little people. We still got our target amount of people and we are still doing one experiment day at lunchtime at school someday.
I am proud to announce that I am now not addicted to that QuizUp app. I know that my rank on 'name the baby animal' will decrease, as I didn't play for a long time, and that saddens me. I guess that I am still kind of addicted to the Neybers app, but at least one is better than two! I hope I will never press on the QuizUp app ever again. :)
I have quite a lot of homework due on Monday and I wonder when I have the time to do it. I have Chinese class tomorrow and I also am going out to dinner tomorrow with family. On Sunday, I'm going swimming and I think I'm visiting my grandparents in Coquitlam. I'll think of a way somehow...
I have been loving this song called "I'm Not the Only One" by Sam Smith. The meaning of the song is about a woman and his cheating husband.

Good evening dudsons,
I went on a field trip today to Granville Island. We bused there ourselves, and I must admit I was really nervous that we would get lost. But we still made it! It was really sad that it was raining, and my shoes were on wet!
When we got there we went to meet our teacher at the theater place for the Writer's Festival. It was still early, so we went to the public market to buy coffee and hot chocolate. We roamed around and we found a quaint little coffee shop called Petit Ami. Considering the hot chocolate was pretty expensive, Bobo, Amy, and I thought it would be good. It disappointed me deeply. The hot chocolate was really sweet and I mean really. It was so sweet that it burned my throat and I had to give the rest to my friends. I did add a little cocoa powder, but I don't think it would make much of a difference. I'm not sure about the coffee, but I know that the hot chocolate is the worst I have ever tasted.
We returned to the Performance Works theater and went in to the 'Secrets and Lies' writer's speech, featuring Mariko Tamaki, Marthe Jocelyn, and Robert Paul Weston. I never read their books though, but the books seem to be pretty interesting. The performance was good, but towards the end, the dark environment of the theater made me drowsy.
Afterwards, it was lunch! My favourite part of the day. I went to A La Mode to buy the clam chowder pot pie, which cost around ten bucks, It was totally worth it though. I even convinced Amy to buy one and she also agreed that it was delicious. It has a flaky crust which you can eat separately or with the soup. There are a lot of clams and ingredients and the hot soup just warms me up after a chilly day. Even though it is not incredibly big, it is very filling. I stuffed myself and even left some for Sab to eat. This is the to-go place for pot pies!
Soon, lunch was over and we met up with my applied skills teacher. We were going to do a scavenger hunt! He gave a list of words and we had to find something that represents it or is it all over the island. Some of the things Sab and I didn't quite get, but I guess it's okay. after one-and-a-half hour of searching we were done and headed for home. The scavenger hunt was fun, but it was raining, making it difficult to navigate around.
We went on the bus and stopped at Broadway. We went to the Spirits Halloween store and that place scared the poop out of me! There was this sign that said step here, but being the stupid person I am I stood there and a huge pumpkin thing jumped out at me. I was so scared, but Sab and Amy just kept laughing at me. "The best friends ever". Anyway we bought the rubber hand and it was hefty $16.80 just for a piece of latex and plastic. I don't like this Spirit store; it's horrible.
Speaking of the brain game project, we plan to do it in our community, so we don't have to bring chairs and tables to downtown. This will be much easier and more efficient. I heard it's going to rain, so I'm not sure if people would come sit in the rain just to help us do our project, Why are projects so frustrating?!
It's thursday again! I will tell you something special about October 23rd. It's the 296th day of the year and the beginning of the Great Depression in 1926. Stock prices have a steady decline and the New York Stock Exchange are showing signs of panic. This day marks a dark period for the whole world.

Hey dudsons,
Tomorrow is the field trip to Granville Island! I'm excited, mostly for the suspected scavenger hunt, rather than the writer's festival. For lunch, I want to eat the clam chowder pot pie from A La Mode. It's heaven. I'm probably not going to finish it, but still, it's perfection. So to you go guys reading this, go eat there, it's awesome. (the pot pies) Funny story, one time that place was selling lemonade and this lady just took one cup and took a huge sip. I thought she was going to pay, but she just put it back. Unfortunately, the cashier didn't see. I pity the person who bought that cup.
I'm worried for the mind games project. Why in the world is the due date on November 4th, or at least something like that? Me, Sab, and Amy all have pretty busy schedules, so we're pretty much only free on pro-d days or holidays. Plus, our project is not a simple one. We have to go out and ask people to help us do the experiment. Even though I really want to do this project, I am starting to doubt it. Honestly, I don't think we're going to be prepared for this pro-d day coming up, because we didn't plan a lot of things. We didn't even buy the rubber hand yet! All I can do is hope for the best. If it's going to rain, I don't think we'll go. Although there is a 40% chance though.
So back on a more happier topic. I ran the six-lap today! Woohoo, I got it over with. I ended up with 13:55 and was the fastest girl. But when I look at other classes, their fastest girls were like 11 to 12 minutes. Anyway, I'm pretty happy with this time, even though I was super dizzy and pooped afterwards.
Today I also had a photo retake, due the fact I was sick on the actual picture day. I am suspecting that my picture will be really bad, because the photographer told me to pose my head in an awkward way. Also, the flash stung my eyes, making my eyes look weird too.

Greeting dudsons,
Great. My laptop went needs a new security system update, thus why I am typing on my iPad again. It's okay, but I'd much prefer the laptop because it's more convenient, easier to type, easier to send this as an email...the list goes on.
Me and Amy pulled the best prank on Sab a week ago. We put purple eraser bits into her hair and we said it was gum. It was so hilarious because she was like 'get it off me' and we were laughing so hard. But something sad and devastating happened. My friend Rachel told Sab that it was actually eraser bits. Way to spoil the fun. Luckily, she didn't get mad at us. Now, time to think of another prank...
For the mind games project, we still didn't buy a rubber hand yet! That's the main part of the project. We plan to buy it from Spirits though, and we appoint Sab to buy it. But who knows, she could be unreliable. I find it irritating that we have to bring chairs and tables to downtown to do our project. Downtown was the only place we could think of that could attract a lot of people. I wonder if our project will be a fail or not...
I'm planning to write a 'why' blog sometime soon...if I remember. Basically, I talk about why the things happened that day.
Since I'm addicted to that other app called Neybers, I'll show you some of the designs I made, as well as some from other "artists". I really like the ones that are pictured below that are not mine, because it's so creative and beautiful. Wow, I'm addicted.

Hey dudsons,
Today I was almost late to school, but I still made it to science class. :)
For science, we watched another video about the nasty water system and cycle we have on Earth. Watching these kinds of things makes me sad, because it reminds me of the bad shape Earth is in right now and makes me feel useless because I can't change that much about it. In the video it said that humans throw all their wastewater into the ocean, thus killing a lot of wildlife. I never knew that humans actually did that, I just thought somehow they clean the water and then it goes straight back to us.
PE was the "highlight of my day". Guess why? I did the Langara run today and it was as exhausting as poop. I have never been this pooped in my entire life and I am not kidding. I got 16:25 which is considered good okay compared to some my friends that got 19-20 minutes, but compared to my other friends (Amy and Sab) they got so much better than me. At least I was the third girl to finish. Anyways I felt a little dizzy after I ran and the worst part is that I forgot my water bottle. So I was tired AND thirsty.
For French, we got back our tests and I got a perfect 16/16 again....yay! We also did our oral dialogues with my partner in front of the whole class. I must admit I was kind of nervous, but it was actually okay. Luckily, we did not make a huge mistake, even though we had to memorize our conversation. My teacher also gave us a new project on the Eiffel Tower that we have to present in the form of a postcard. I think the research part will be easy enough, but the drawing part will be hard. I'm okay at drawing, but it's an okay subject.
For socials, we worked on our world maps and I find it hard to write tiny to fit in with the small sizes of the countries. So that's basically what we did the whole class.
After school, I went to volunteer at the junior youth council at the community centre. We basically just plan fundraising events and volunteer, in return we earn a "prize". Last year we went out to eat at a Japanese buffet and it was pretty good. I'm hoping that we either go to laser tag or go to another buffet again this year.
I talked about this app called QuizUp and for 'Name the baby animal category' I got 6th place in Canada and 50th place in the whole world. It's a result of my addictiveness.

Hi dudsons,
Today I am typing on my iPad instead of the laptop. My brother decided to use my computer because he had a virus of some sort in his computer. And that's the reason why I am typing on the iPad.
So today I went to my weekly swimming lesson at the local Y. We swam only 5 laps today! It's probably because we had a substitute teacher, but I had this sub once for my real teacher and she was really nice and fun. We also did some first-aid stuff about epi pens and anaphylaxisq. (Severe allergic reaction)
Food review time!! (This is for my teacher, so you can skip it if you want) After swimming we went out to eat with my aunt and cousin at this restaurant called 'Silver Tower Cafe Restaurant' in Richmond. I give a thumbs up for this place. I ordered the asian version of spaghetti bolognese and I liked it. The portions very big and even though it is on the pricier side ($10.50) it is worth it. It was so big that I only ate half of it. It also includes a drink ( I chose iced lemon tea, which was also good) and a soup of your choice. I chose the cream soup, but there was also minestrone and Chinese soup of the day. If you want to try it out , the address is 8500 Alexandra Rd, Richmond, BC V6X 1C3. The chicken there is also very good.
After, we went to that new supermarket that I talked about in one of my previous blogs. It is called T&T and it is near the Richmond Oval. Today I went there and I saw this really cute cake that was a 'ramen bowl'. It was so cute. I'll be making a mental note to my self that I should buy one for my birthday. As I passed the fish tank, I noticed that there were these strange looking fish that were flat but their heads seem to be sideways. I think I ate them before, and they were called turbot fish or something like that.
I finally got that book I needed for my science class. Once again, it is called Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption. I think it's a ok book, but like all books that involve war, I worry that it might be a little drab and boring. It's not my cup of tea, but whatever. I'll go out of my comfort zone just this one time.
I feel sad right now. I just remembered that I have school tomorrow and I don't want to wake up tomorrow at seven o'clock in the morning. The sun's probably not even going to be out yet. IMF the sun is not up, then why I have to be up. Worst of all, I have PE tomorrow and a French test. Fingers crossed....UGH....

Greeting dudsons,
So today I went to Chinese class and we had that test I was dreading. At least I got over it and there's still that big test coming up in two weeks. More studying for me... "yay".....
So I was reading Sab's blog and she was talking about a old lady called Ms. Brown. I know her because in my old school, there's this teacher named Mr. Fisher and that's his mother. She sometimes comes in for PE too. I think she's a really sweet and nice lady. It's amazing how young she looks even she's at the impressive age of 90.
I finally got a hold for this book a need for science. As I previously mentioned, it is called Unbroken: a World War 2 Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption. I was in twelfth place for holds the week before last week. I think it will be a good book to read since so many people want it. I just need to find some time to pick it up at the library...
I was just thinking about how many new apartment buildings are planned for the Cambie corridor. Since there's going to be a lot of buildings, where will the city find enough people to move in? It's not like Vancouver will have a sudden ten thousand rise of population. I like that the city will have a more modern and big-city feel, but there's going to be tons of traffic and people. I want that peaceful neighborhood to stay.
I just discovered another addicting app. (creds to my brother) It's called Quiz Up and it's a test for a lot of different topics. There's math, music, and even Taylor Swift. They have a whopping amount of 626 topics to choose from. Another reason why I am addicted to this app. I am not shy to mention that keep failing at Taylor Swift, even though she's my favourite singer. Oh well! It's just a game! On the contrary, I am acing in the easy math topic. After all, it does have the word 'easy' in the name. I hope it doesn't affect me and my schoolwork, though it probably will.
I also found a story told in the format of cheques. There is no story behind it; you are the one that is suppose to interpret it yourself. There are a lot of interpretations of it online and I find the story to be quite interesting. It's called 'Ordeal of Cheques'.

Hello dudsons,
I'm typing on my mom's iPhone because I feel like it today. Today was an okay day, which means that nothing special happened. Today's schedule was English, performing arts, applied skills, and math.
For lunch, there was fish and chips today. I have never bought something from the cafeteria and the food there always looks really good. Plus, they sell bubble tea...I LOVE BUBBLE TEA! I wonder if I should buy something sometime soon...
For lunch, there was fish and chips today. I have never bought something from the cafeteria and the food there always looks really good. Plus, they sell bubble tea...I LOVE BUBBLE TEA! I wonder if I should buy something sometime soon...
For English today, we watched 3 three videos all about this famous spoken word poet called Shane Koyczan. I love how he plays with words and his ability of language and connecting to the audience is very strong ". We are going to see his opera called 'Stickboy' which talks about his life. I read the preview, and it's a really inspirational story that he has. I'm excited to go see it the week after next week. My teacher also gave us no homework for the weekend....yay!
We had to perform a skit for performing arts about a teacher putting two students in detention. I was the straight A student who never got a detention. I always get nervous when I have to do these little skits, because I don't feel comfortable doing things in front of people. We started doing skits every week now, so I'm always not that looking forward to this class. At first I loved this class because we would play games for the whole time and it's like a free period. Now we have to act and plus, there's this really sassy girl who always gets on my nerves....
We'll, I'm starting to like applied skills a lot more because it's a really fun class. I have trouble doing the mission statements though, because I have no idea what to do. Well, I know what to do, but I'm having trouble thinking of what to write. I need to think of 'why' instead of 'what'. Oh yeah, we also watched a TED talk today during class. It's my second one today; the other one was during English about Shane Koyczan. I don't mind because I like watching these kinds of things. One thing I didn't really get during the talk was when the talker mentioned a company or thing I believed is spelled Tivo or Teevo. I guess it's just some 'ancient' thing. I enjoy writing blogs too now. At the beginning I always needed to remind myself, but now, it has begun to become a habit that I'm used to. I love reading other peoples' blog too, but my friends say I'm "stalking" them. Oh well. Anyways, I'm excited to do the rubber hand experiment and to see what we'll get for the results!
For math, we reviewed order of operations with positive and negative numbers, also known as BEDMAS. I learned it before, so I don't have much trouble with it. So... I am going to do the AMC math contest, even though I'm not that good at math. Apparently this girl thought I was super smart at math since I'm doing the contest, so she asked me to help with her math. I had no idea how to do it. :/. Anyways I don't want people to expect that I will have a excellent score when I might receive a low mark. As I previously said in one of my recent blogs, I just want to challenge myself and I don't care if I fail, as long as I try my best.
I have chinese school tomorrow, and we also have a test. I didn't study that much, so I'm hoping I'll get a good mark. It isn't a big test;it's more like a spelling test , where the teacher says the word and we write it down. The hard part is remembering the word. Chinese characters have very complicated strokes and different components. That reminds me, after this, I will go study...
I also started playing that addicting app called Neybers again. I need to control myself!..but it's hard. It's just so awesome. I was so addicted that when I was playing piano, I took the iPad and started playing it. My mom noticed and she told me to concentrate again. See what I mean by addicting?

Welcome dudsons,
Happy Thursday! I have established that every Thursday, I will post a fun fact about that particular day. So today's fun fact.... On this same day in 1996, 84 people were killed and more than 180 injured, due to the fact that 47,000 football fans attempted to squeeze into a 36,000-seat arena in Guatemala City. Wow, talk about crazy! If I saw how cramped it was, I'd probably go away instead of risking my life just to watch one football game. Sad, sad, sad....
So for science today, Ms. Smedley wasn't here because she went on an IB camping field trip. Lucky, I wish that I could go too. Last year, because of the teacher strike, I didn't have a chance to go, so yeah... Anyways, we watched a 'Bill Nye the Science Guy' video clip today about pseudoscience. I like how he always make science sound fun and interesting, even though it may be boring as watching paint dry.
For second period, I had PE. We had a earthquake drill today and it really surprised me. Teachers in elementary school take these things so seriously, and in high school it's like no big deal. We were just sitting on the ground during the first 30 seconds of the drill and then he (my teacher) told us to sit beside the wall. We didn't even have to count to 60, be silent, or even cover our heads. When we got outside, it was FREEZING! I forgot to bring my jacket too and I was in my PE strip, so I was cold! Luckily, when we got back in, we played handball, and I was all warmed up.
Nothing much happened in French, though the the teacher delayed the second part of the test to Monday. Yay!
After dinner, I headed over to my friend's house to have drawing lessons. She's not actually the teacher though, the actual teacher comes to her house to teach. I drew a eagle or hawk of some sort.
My mom made sticky rice dumplings. I actually have no idea what they're exactly called in English, but they sure are yummy! They have stuff inside, like chinese mushrooms, chinese sausages, meat, and green bean paste. Just thinking of it makes me want to eat it right now.

Hi dudsons,
Today was okay-ish day; there was the usual: english, performing arts, applied skills, and math. I got back two tests today; one was from math, one was from english. I'm so proud of myself...because I got PERFECT on both of them! Yay!
Something tragic has happened today.
Well, I guess it's not a life-or-death situation, but still. My mom got a cut on her finger and with metal and I guess maybe I kind of caused that. I f I didn't forget the money for the field trip, then she wouldn't have come. The problem is that metal can hold lots of rust and stuff and might start an infection. She has went to the doctor to receive a shot. Hopes she gets better!
Oh yeah, and another thing. For math, I registered for the AMC math contest. I just did it out of fun; it's not like I'm really good at math. I just want to challenge myself. I don't care if I get the worst mark, I will still be proud of myself because I already tried my best.
For applied skills today, we were planning our 'mind games' project. There was a lot of goofing off (Well, I guess that's only our group), well, I guess it was mainly because there was a substitute, so things were as strict.
After school, I ate some yummy Vietnamese pho noodles. It was really good, and it had some fried fish cakes and raw beef. There was a lot of noodles and the soup was the regular, yummy, msg-filled one. In case you don't know, I love Vietnamese noodles. They taste so awesomely good, if only I could eat it everyday....

Greetings dudsons,
The fourth week of school is already here! Time sure does go by quickly. Well, I guess it's a good thing because I really want to go forward with my life and see what kind of job I'll have or even if I get into university or college.
There was nothing interesting today. Just science, PE, french, and social studies.
For science, I have to get this book called Unbroken: a World War 2 Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption. Wow, that's a long name. I just so happened to be 12th place for holds at the library. Why?! I am planning to purchase the book, although it's nineteen dollars. Whatever. Ms. Smedley offered me a new book, but it seemed pretty boring. And boring means that I might not be as interested, which leads to a bad report/homework/mark.
PE today was awesome. We didn't even have to do our warm-ups or the dreaded six laps we have to do; all we did was walk around the park, even though it was kind of chilly. Also, my teacher announced that we will be going on a field trip to an indoor water park! I have three field trips on my list now!
French was just french. We got back our tests though and I got 16/16. I hope I keep on getting these kinds of marks or else I'll be doomed.
Social studies was just social studies, also. We didn't much, just working on some worksheets and handing in our homework.
Now I have to worry about English tomorrow. The homework is HARD.
Going to do my homework now...

Hello little dudsons,
Happy Thanksgiving (AKA turkey day) Canadians! (Sorry Americans and others of the world, I'm excluding you guys) I hope you guys (Canadians) all had an awesome day!
So today there was no school. I got to sleep in...finally. It feels good, but it saddens me deeply that I have school tomorrow and I don't get to sleep in. The problem with me and waking up is that I almost always ignore the alarm clock. And then ten minutes later, I look at the clock and I'm in a rush to get dressed and eat my breakfast. This is the story of my life basically.
Anyways, I went to the mall today with my friend. Unfortunately, both of us came home empty-handed; we bought nothing. I hate it when I don't buy anything from the mall because I spent like three hours doing nothing. We did buy a cup of hot chocolate from Starbucks and a burger from McDonalds. It was good....
We had dinner with my grandparents at home this evening. We did not have turkey, but I guess chicken kind of counts. We also had crab, fish, and you-choy (a type of Chinese veggie). Funny, my dad used to call you-choy trees. I think my Caucasian friends actually believed him. LOL

Welcome back dudsons,
So today I was reading other peoples' blogs, and apparently they said I was stalking them. Technically, I'm not stalking, just reading, so I'm just going to continue to READ other peoples' blogs. I was reading ("stalking") Sab's blog and she was saying that she wanted to be friends with this oblivious guy and I'm pretty sure who she's talking about. I agree with her: he is totally oblivious and relies on others too much.
In the morning today I went swimming. Well there's nothing much I can say about swimming because, you know, I pretty much just swam and swam. I did shower a little bit too long and made my brother wait half an hour. I can't help it though because...I'm a girl, of course!
In the evening, I went to this Christian Thanksgiving potluck. I'm personally Buddhist, but my dad's friend told us to go and so we went. It was really cool to experience another type of culture and being exposed to different things. When people were singing and praying, it was pretty awkward, mostly because I didn't really know what to do. We split into two groups after we sang a few Christian songs and ate our dinner; one group for adults and one for teenagers and kids. We played Thanksgiving bingo and guess what? Me and my brother won 2 jumbo-size candy bars. I don't know why I'm so happy actually, because I don't really like those kinds of candy. Then, we played bananagrams. This is my first time playing and I actually enjoyed it a lot. Looking forward to playing banangrams with friends in the future!
Today I accomplished a big thing; I have officially went on the phone for the most noticeably longest time ever with my friend! Forty-seven minutes! My first phone call buddy! How did a simple call for homework help turn into such a long phone call? I don't know.

Hello there dudsons,
It's officially the start of the thanksgiving long weekend! That also means that there's no Chinese class this morning, which also means that I get to sleep in!
I finally thought of a science proposal idea. I'm going to do a project that has something to do with yeast and sugar. I'm not telling you the details..no spoilers yet!
In the afternoon, I went to the US to go shopping. I went to Hollister (one of my favorite brands) and got a good deal on a pair of leggings and a lace hoodie. That's pretty much it, but nevertheless, I am happy with my purchase. Afterwards, we went to a buffet to eat dinner and my favorite thing about that buffet is that they have free drinks for kids. Ironically, I only got half a cup of coke and just a sip of water. For some strange reason, I wasn't in the mood for desserts either. Whatever.
Going to bed now.

Hey there dudsons,
Sorry that I have to the blog on the 11th. It's just that after I went out to eat to celebrate my uncle's birthday, I had to go straight to sleep, so I'm probably doing 2 blogs today.
Anyways back to the blog. Yesterday I had a test in English and it was actually not that bad as I expected it to be. I got back my first test and I got 18/18...YAY! I discovered that we're going on a second field trip to watch an opera. I guess I'm kind of excited because I never watched on before, but I hope it's not one of those boring classical operas.
For Applied Skills, we were sorting things out in our 'Mind Game' groups. Me and Sab were fighting over which one of us would be chairperson. In the end, Amie got the job. Wow,,. what kind of logic is that?
So far, I really like math class. Don't ask me why, I just like it. It's easy, because I already learned all the things that she's teaching us. I just hope it doesn't get any harder! I am wanting to join the AMC math test, but I keep on forgetting to register. I don't really know what that test is, but it doesn't hurt to try!
Now, back to the dinner. We had lobster drenched in cream sauce, yee-mien noodles, fried rice, fried squabs (little birds like pigeons; they're actually really good), honey-garlic spareribs, tofu-seafood soup, and many more. It was a really good dinner; eating out is always good. For dessert, they gave us some chinese jello/pudding, and some birthday buns that had red-bean filling in them. We provided the cake ourselves, Every time we go to that restaurant, in the fish tank, I always see crabs that torture the lobsters. The crabs always pinch and hit the lobsters. Crabs dominate. I feel bad for the lobsters.

Hi dudsons,
This is probably going to be a short blog because I almost forgot to do the blog, but just remembered before going to bed.
Ugh! I still didn't think of a topic/project for the science fair project proposal...and it's due next Tuesday! I need to think of one soon or else I'll be doomed.
PE was fun today and you usually don't hear that from me. We played bench ball, a variation of rock-paper-scissors, and this tag game. Reminds me of what we did for gym in grade 1. Grade 7 PE is way harder than what we're doing now.
I have a english short story test and it's pretty hard. We have to memorize writing terms and I'm not considered the best memorizer... I hope I get at least a passing mark.
Gotta go study some more now...

Hey dudsons,
Today was just a regular school day; nothing much, just classes. In English, we had a quiz today! It was so simple because it was just fill in the blank with our vocab words. (Is easy a good thing?) There was a typo in the quiz and everybody was like "huh?", but no worries, she told to cross off the question. And... we have another test on Friday! I would expect that one to be much harder, so not looking forward to that.
Applied skills! We watched part of a 'mind game' video clip by National Geographic. No offense, but at first I thought it would be boring, but actually, it's very entertaining and I learned a lot from it. I hope that we watch more from the 'mind games' series, because I really like it! Apparently we're going to learn knitting later on; I have learned a little bit, but I'm still excited and still looking forward to it.
There was a math test today. Guess what I got? 27/28! The reason I got that one point off was because I forgot to put in the decimal. I'm mad at myself now. How could I be so dumb and make such a dumb mistake?! >:(
For the past half a year, I have been watching these Irish bloggers called the SacconeJolys. The only reason I probably watch them only because their children are so cute! Just watching them makes me happy. ^-^

Hi there dudsons!
My first collab day went pretty well. In the morning I went to my friend's house before school started, but we didn't do much though....
For PE today, I was super happy. (which is unusual) Instead of running three laps, we only needed to run one! I still felt super tired though; how am I ever going to survive the 6 laps that I need to do later for my PE mark?
At lunch, I went to the auditorium to listen to the grade 8 student reps' speeches. Some were kind of boring, while some were actually entertaining. My bestie is running for rep too...I hope she wins! There was a downside to listening to the speeches though; I didn't have time to finish my lunch and I'm not the type of girl who likes to skip her lunch. :(
Sadly, I discovered after school that I had a cough. I was partially expecting it though; a lot of my friends plus my my brother is sick. One of the most annoying things about getting a cough is when you're at a public place, say a classroom in my case, and you have a cough attack, but you have to hold it in, making your face all red and stuff. And then you can't hold it in anymore, a you just keep on coughing and people are like, "Are you ok?" "OMG are you sick?" It just gets sooo annoying AND embarrassing.
That's all for now folks! Tune in tomorrow for tomorrow's blog about tomorrow!

Welcome back dudsons!
It's the first hot day in a while; in fact I was kind of sweating when I was walking to school. Unfortunately, when I looked at the weather report for tomorrow there was a fifty-percent chance of rain. Oh well, it is the fall season right now, so I guess I have to expect at least some kind of bad weather.
Today at performing arts someone stuck a foot inside of my mouth. Well it was more like a dirty, bacteria contaminated boot...but still! A boot! I was so mad, but I didn't react to it because she seemed like the type of person you wouldn't want to mess with. The story goes like this: she decides to goof off and flips over, her feet in the air. It lands in my mouth. Simple, right? I think I even tasted some blood though. Well, it looks like someone is on my 'hate' list. (Just kidding!)
Unusually, I have something to look forward to tomorrow...we have collab day tomorrow! In case you don't know, it means we go to school at 10:15 in the morning. More sleep for me!

Howdy dudsons,
In case you didn't notice, it's the tenth blog!! To celebrate, I have included a youtube video that I recently discovered that I thought was pretty funny. (Hint: It has something to do with poop...)
So, today I went swimming at the local Y. I had to do 14 laps; that's a lot of swimming and in case you don't know, that's 28 lengths! Of course, I also forgot my flipflops at home, so I had to walk on the dirty floor bare-foot.
Luckily, I went to eat dim sum afterwards, and I'm the type of girl that likes to eat. (Sorry, I forgot to include photos; I'll try to remember next time!) We ordered some of the classics, such as shrimp dumplings, beef tendon, and spareribs with pumpkin. The meal was okay, but the most important thing is that I was full.
Afterwards, we went grocery shopping at a new supermarket. It was big and a lot of stuff were on sale. There were food samples, but unfortunately I was too full to try some food. I thought it was really cool that they had a noodle section, which you could choose from pink, green, yellow, and the traditional white noodles and could eat it immediately. If I try it, I'll tell you guys the verdict! Anyways, there was a crazy long lineup for seafood, since some things were really cheap. Fortunately, we were not one of those people. ^-^
For dinner, we went out again to a traditional chinese restaurant with our neighbors. It was pretty good actually and we got some desserts after wards. Pictured below is a sweet papaya and some chinese thingy dessert.

Greeting duds,
I went to chinese school today for two-and-a-half hours! That's an awfully long amount of time, but it did go by fast.
There's a new designer outlet mall being made near the airport....I'm excited.....what girl wouldn't be? I'm not too sure about the "designer" part though; I want more common (and cheaper!) brands such as Hollister, American Eagle, and Aeropostle, instead of Prada, Chanel, and Michael Kors. There is another outlet mall already built and sells chaper brands, but it's like a forty minute drive; I don't have time for that nonsense.
My mom planted some tomato plants during the summer and they're super sweet and juicy. They're still growing, but I'm afraid that the upcoming cold weather might kill them.... So today when I went out to my backyard to take these pictures, I spotted a big spider. I practically ran back inside, once I saw it!

Today is Friday and also clubs day. Basically they set up tables and introduce us to each club; there's over 90 clubs and indisputably a lot of people. Today was my first day sitting at the cafeteria. There's usually a lot of people at the cafeteria, but today since there was clubs day, a lot of people went out to the field. I joined the Keys club and also the animal awareness club. The keys club is fundraising for current causes and disasters. Right now, they're fundraising for the Ebola virus. So today's blog will be a short one, as I have to write an essay for Chinese school that I haven't even started yet!
So...bye!

Welcome back dudsons!
Today was just an average day at school, nothing special. I learned today that we're going on our first field trip of the year! We will be going to the writer's festival and meet real authors "advertising" their books. The only problem is that we have to bus/go there ourselves....nothing like elementary field trips where we go everywhere together. All in all, I'm excited! Today at math class we learned fraction multiplication, division and decimal addition and subtraction. Easy peasy stuff.... I hope math the rest of the year will stay easy like this. (100% not probable) I heard that my friend ran SIX laps around the track today. SIX. I barely survived three laps; I'm scared for PE tomorrow and I hope we keep on playing handball. Surprisingly, handball is really fun. Mostly because people actually pass to me. I still remember when I played handball in elementary school and no one passed to me because sporty people only pass to sporty people. Ahh, the good old days.... I'm trying to study for a science test. Now all I need to do is keep the iPad away from me and keep the Facebook and YouTube tab closed. It's not as easy you would think it is.

Evening dudsons!
Happy first day of October! Today, luckily, there was no road paving... but it seems like they paved one side of the road and left the other side unfinished. So basically half of the road is dark, half is grey. My first class today was science and I have to think of one science fair project I could do. I have completely no ideas and the proposal is due two weeks from now. I'm officially doomed. After school today, I finally got the chance to pay my school fees. Unfortunately though, the internet was down, so I have to come back tomorrow to get the official receipt. I need to complain to the city about the school's bad internet someday!
So I realized I never wrote an introductory blog...well, here it is now!
My internet name is Cyndi Forrest. I am currently in grade 8, so this is my first year of high school. I live in Canada, and just in case you don't know, it is a beautiful place right above the US. I have a brother, mom and dad that live with me. I play the piano and the violin. (Does the recorder count?) Honestly, I'm basically just a normal kid, with a normal life. So that's me Cyndi Forrest!
