Hey dudsons,

So today we were suppose to have a science test, and I was so happy to hear that my teacher moved it to I think the next class.  I'm not sure, so I'm gonna ask a classmate.

Today I read on the news that processed meats, such as bacon, ham, and sausages, and red meat, such as beef, can cause cancer.  That's so not surprising, since my mom has always told me those foods are not healthy and can be harmful for the body.  In the news report, it said that approximately 2 pieces of bacon is already "dangerous".  Haha to that, because when I was in the US and I was eating at a breakfast buffet, some people were stacking a heap of bacon on their plates.  Too bad for them.

Hey dudsons,

So today I got exceptionally well on the English test that I got back today!  I got 57/58 and I  thought I was going to get worse than that, so I am very happy with my mark.

There was a socials test today, and I think I did okay.  However, there was this bonus question that required us to know how many seats each political party won, and I didn't really know, since I went to sleep way before the total number of seats each party got was determined.  But at least I did know that Justin Trudeau and his Liberal team won majority government.

Tomorrow I have another test for French.  I hope I do good!

Anyways, we started to sell cookies for our NPO project, and we earned a profit of $8.75. So we sold $16.75 worth of cookies.  We went door-door but a lot people don't open their doors, and some of them just don't want to buy cookies.  However there are also some generous people.  My neighbor for example gave us $5 for a single cookie.  At first, she didn't even want the cookie, but later she changed her mind.  There were a lot of people who also paid $1-2.  Overall, today was a good day.  We are also looking forward to sell other food items as well, such as muffins and perhaps cupcakes.

For textiles today, I am still working on this binder cover.  I think that perhaps next week we will start working on making pajama pants.  I bought this really awesome pink fabric with owls on it, and I can't wait until I make the whole outfit, so I can wear it and be proud of myself.

Gotta go study for French guys, bye!

Hey dudsons,

Today was an important day, since the election was today.  Liberals won.  I just don't like how Justin Trudeau is so arrogant.  But eh, I hope he leads Canada into a better future.  A sad news, however, is that Harper is resigning from his position.  :(

So tomorrow I'm going to vote with my parents to earn bonus socials marks!

Ugh I have to memorize this huge chunk of words for French, so I got to go now!

Hey chobs,

I went to Chinese school today.  I was supposed to go swimming afterwards, however, I had to help my dad take the drapes off in my room, because it was really dirty and dusty.  Then I went to take a nap to refresh myself to meet family friends for dinner.  We went shopping for a mouse trap because I have such a big mouth.  (Just kidding!)  Actually we did go shopping at Safeway after dinner. That's it for today, bye!

Hey dudsons,

So today was an average school day.  Classes and classes and classes.  I had fun at textiles and currently I am making a binder cover.  I'm not sure if I will use it, depending on if it looks good as this is my first time making one.

I had an English test today, yikes!  It was easy, except that we had to do an essay, and I was too busy worrying about my spilled hand sanitizer in my backpack that I didn't really do my best on the essay part.  :(\

I have two tests tomorrow for math and science.  Let's hope that I ace both of them!

Hey dudsons,

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I went to buy fabric for my pajamas today and that's pretty much all.  I bought this really cute pink owl fabric.  Notions were 50% so that was a pretty good deal.  Notions are things like thread, buttons, needles, and that kind of stuff.

I forgot to tell you guys this but there was a double rainbow on Saturday.  That's so cool!  I didn't see it actually, but my dad and brother saw it and took a picture for me to see.

So tomorrow there is a math test, a science fair proposal due, french homework due and I think that's all.  So I must proceed doing those things.  Bye!

I had my thanksgiving dinner tonight with the fam.  My mom cooked this humongous turkey and it was delicious.  I honestly don't like eating turkey at restaurants because it's always so dry and rough, but my mom makes it really nice.

October 10th, 2015

Hey dudsons,

So tonight I went to the night market.  It was such a great experience, especially with friends.  This weekend was the last weekend that the night market will be open for.  I bought a notebook for fifty cents, which I think is a pretty good deal, and I also ate curry fish balls.  It was spicy, and I had no water so my tongue felt like it was burning.  And by the way, the photo of the drink was not mine, but my friend Amie's.  It is a Ferrero Rocher slush, and it looked insanely good.  I wanted to buy some socks too, but I didn't because I still have three packages of unused socks, hee hee.  The weather tonight was kind of cold, especially since it was windy.  That's why I didn't buy a cold drink; I would be even more colder.

I also went to swimming lessons today at the YMCA, and my earring fell off while I was swimming.  Luckily, my brother found it.  So I gave it to the swimming teacher to help me hold on to it.  I forgot to get it back at the end of class, so now he has it.  So Jordan (if that's how you spell your name) if you're reading this, PLEASE return back my earring!

Hey dudsons,

The Thanksgiving weekend is here!  So on Monday, there is no school!  That's a good thing, because then I have time to buy fabric to make pajamas for textiles with "Bob", "Chris" and "Lore".  (Fake names in case you didn't know, because I don't want to exploit them)

So I might go to the night market tomorrow with some friends, but I'm scared that it might rain.  The weather report says that it will probably stop raining at around 9.

Sigh, there's a ton of homework, since teachers think that we have nothing to do during the long weekend.  YES WE DO!  E.g. swimming lessons, thanksgiving dinners (which take like a long time especially if you are going to someone else's house), chinese school, hanging out with friends (we need to have social lives too) etc.

I want to know what's the best way to deal with annoying and obnoxious people.  Insulting them back?  Ignoring them?  I read one website that said that you should just tell them they are being annoying.  That sounds a bit mean though?

:'-(    I don't think I did well on the science test.  Some of stuff wasn't even in the notes that he told us to study with.  :'-(

Anyways,  I did the Langara run today last block, and I was so tired.  I managed to beat my last score by 2 1/2 minutes, so now I got 14:27.  I'm pretty happy with that time!  I can't wait until square dancing starts because we don't have to run laps during that unit, and we also don't need to change into our PE strips.

So today I woke up early to be at school at 7:40 for a french test.  The teacher was 11 minutes late!  And she kept on scolding us when she came.  One girl was late 3 minutes, and I could tell the teacher was unhappy about this.  But the test was easy, so that's all that mattered.

I attended a Me to We meeting today.  There is an opportunity for only 22 people, so I hope I can go.

I keep on writing September instead of October the date.  Maybe it's because I can't believe how fast a month passes by.

Anyways,  good news is that my science teacher moved this big test to next class, since today was a collab day and there was not enough time.

Bad news is that tomorrow I have to wake up super duper early for this french test that I missed.  It's at 7:40 am, the time I usually wake up to go to school. -_-

So I must study now and sleep super duper early.

Okai bye!

Hey dudsons,

So my previous blog was all about the costs of doing business, but let's just get back to my life.

Since I (and two others) were on a field trip to a fashion show last Wednesday, I wasn't able to do the French test.  So my French teacher just told us to do it during lunch time today.  So guess what?  I waited outside her door, along with my two other friends.  We waited and waited and waited for what seemed like an eternity, but she didn't come. I did see her going down the stairs, but when I said         " Ms. (      ), Ms. (       )!" she didn't hear me and she walked the other way.  Man, was I confused!  We just continued to eat our lunches as we proceeded to wait for her, thinking she would be coming back.  Nope, she didn't.  And this part was the last straw for me:  she walked passed us and she looked everywhere, but at us.  She knew that we were coming to write the test.  It was there big and bold on the whiteboard "Monday lunch"  and then our names; I even saw her personally write it in her planner.  But she continued on her way passed us, even though she even stopped in front of where we were sitting.  Finally, 20 minutes before the bell rang, she came.  She said that she totally forgot that she had supervision duty, and that we couldn't do the test.  So she changed the time!  To Wednesday morning 7:40 a.m!  Wow, what a woman!

We wasted pretty much the whole lunch time because of her!

So yeah, basically I don't really like my French teacher.

Hello dudsons!

So today we will be talking about the costs of doing business.  Firstly, you need to know that there are mainly two types of costs: fixed cost and variable costs.

Fixed costs are expenses that will stay the same and will not really fluctuate for a business, regardless of how the variable cost (which I will explain later) will change.  This can include the rent of the space occupied for your office, insurance for the company, taxes, and salaries.  Of course, the list doesn't end there.

Variable costs are costs corporate expenses that are subject to change.  They are a direct function of production volume, it rises when there's a high demand for your product(s), and falls when there is less demand for your product(s).  According to investinganswers.com, the formula for calculating for the total variable cost is:

Total Variable Cost = Total Quantity of Output x Variable Cost Per Unit of Output

So to put it in more basic terms, the variable costs of a business are usually something to do with production of your product(s).  A variable cost can also be associated with shipping costs and also sales commissions.

Actually there is one more type of cost that is called a semi-variable cost.  This can include telephone charges, repairs, maintenance, electricity bills etc.  These costs somewhat stay the same, but say if the washroom in your company suddenly flooded, then you would have to pay money to find someone to repair it.  That's not going to happen often, so it may look something like a straight line in a chart, then a little hump appears and then goes back to being a straight line.  I think I didn't explain it that clearly, but I think you know what I mean.

Here is an excellent, but fairly simple-to-understand chart, so you can understand even more what a variable cost and what a fixed cost is:

Hey dudsons,

Today was a very nice day.  The sun was shining and the temperature was not too hot, or too cold.  I went to ssee the new Nordstrom store, and everything was so expensive.  Well, of course it should be, since they're selling Burberry, Miu Miu, Valentino etc.  But there were some things that were reasonably priced.  But the majority of the stuff was expensive.

Anyways, around 4 we went to eat a meal at this noodle place.  (An awkward time in between lunch and dinner time; I don't even know what to call it)  The noodles were hand strung/made and it was really good.  I got the dan dan noodles, my mom got pork dumpling buns, my brother got beef noodles and my dad got lamb noodles.

Hey dudsons,

I felt awful after running the six laps today.  I wasn't feeling good even before I started to run.  But, I'm still glad that I got it over with.  I actually improved by almost one minute, so this time I got 13:02.  Last time I got 13:55, I believe.  BUT I think I practically died after running.  I  had cramps all over my body and my legs, arms, and face was as red those cherries on top of an ice cream cone.  My head was spinning, and I don't know why but my feet felt a little  bit numb.  Perhaps because the weather was cold when I was running?

Anyways, this blog we will be talking about this quote:

This is true, very true.  This is true with strict and overprotective parents also.  I actually heard a similar case from a friend.  If she get hurt, then her parents be super interrogative, so she tries to avoid getting hurt.   A mistake might get her yelled at.  And a failure?  Don't even think about it.  (I'm talking about the type of failure like failing a test, or an assignment)  This is why I think parents shouldn't be too overprotective or their children will never learn from their mistakes.  And when the children venture out in life by themselves and hit a rock in the road, they'll have no idea what to do.  They won't have experience, maybe in academics and in the business world they will, but not socially or physically, or perhaps even mentally.  Parents should be strict, but not in an obvious way that will affect your children mentally.

This concludes this blog!
