Hey dudsons,

Why does it always seem that teachers pile on so much assignments before spring break?  I have an English speech tomorrow, I might have to present my bee inquiry for applied skills, I have an outdoor observation due on Thurs, a science characteristics of living things foldable due on Thurs, a math test on Mon., French homework due on Thurs, and also a mini test on religions on Thurs too.  Wow, and to say that teenagers all lack off, only playing video games and going shopping!  Not to mention I also have Chinese homework, and I have to practice piano (which takes approximately 45 minutes to 2 hours a practice).  I also have swimming lessons that take up about 2 hours, chinese class that takes up 2 1/2 hours and piano lessons that take up 1 hour-- those alone 5 1/2 hours off my private time.  How about time for eating?  How about time to rest?  You can't just work all day long.  How about time to shower and groom yourself?  How about time to help out parents with chores?  And how about time to sleep?  It seems that there is not enough time for even social life.  I believe that social skills are important to succeed in life.  There are no major days off before spring break which makes it even worst.  My parents don't allow me to sleep late also, or they will start yelling at me (just kidding, but they don't allow me to go up after 11 most nights).   See, this is why I yearn elementary school because there's only one teacher that will give us a considerable amount of homework.

I have to go study on my speech....ugh.....help. :(

Hey dudsons,

Today slept in and it felt so heavenly good.  I wish I could sleep in more often, perhaps even everyday, but that is not possible because of...school.  I guess I'll leave this as one of my life goals when I have nothing to do when I'm older (just kidding).

Sudden blurt of randomness:  SPRING BREAK STARTS IN 2 WEEKS!

Anyways, I went swimming today.  My legs were tired from running Langara so if you can imagine, my legs were extremely tired and not cooperating with me during swimming. I was immediately exhausted.  I am loathing the next time we do Langara, which according to my calculations, next term.

I went to my grandparent's place yesterday for dinner to celebrate the New Year.  We went to a restaurant called Deer Garden.  Their food is really good and they serve very big portions.  We couldn't even finish the food.  I always look forward to eating at this restaurant every time I go to Coquitlam, even though we don't always go their to eat.  I really wanted to eat their bitter melon with beef yesterday, but my mom didn't let me because the New Year is supposed to be sweet, not bitter.  Kind of like a hidden pun.

I spent the whole afternoon inside today, doing homework, playing Crossy Road (if you don't know, it is an insanely addictive game), and watching some Youtube videos.  The pretty typical day of a high school student.

I'm kind of dreading tomorrow for it is a school day!  I dread English in particular because it is not one of my favorite subjects.  We have a speech coming up and I suck at that.  We're learning about opera, and that doesn't interest me that much.  I feel it is more like music for the deaf.  I hope that spring break will come faster.  Actually, I wish that I could time travel....wait, that might create a butterfly effect.....

Hey dudsons,

Happy Chinese New Year!  新年快乐,身体健康,万事如意。These are just some sayings that are pretty mandatory to be said  during the Chinese New Year.  You say it to your elders, and you can just say it whenever you see someone.  This is called 拜年 (pr. bye nee-ann)  It's just like how we say "Merry Christmas" during the Christmas season, but the Chinese have many different sayings.

So today I woke up early, because it means that the earlier you get up, the more fortune (福 pr. fok [like the swear word except in a chinese accent :)])you receive.  I didn't wake up considerably early; it was just around 8:30: the time when I'm supposed to be at school.  On New Years day, we're supposed to wear new clothes, new shoes, and sometimes new bedding.  (This is how my family does it)  It all depends on how far you want to take it.  I mean you can't be pressured to wear new clothes, especially if you can't afford the money to purchase it.  However, if you wear new clothes, it represents wealth (富贵 pr. foo guay).  If you wear new shoes it means that you're "stepping" on the people (小人 pr. xee-ao wren) that secretly talk behind your back and betray you; it essentially means your enemies.

You might already know this, but children get red envelopes with money inside (红包 pr. hong bao).  There are many legends why this is, and there's one on Wikipedia in case you want to check it out.  Anyways, I got some from my family and some family friends, so that's pretty cool.  I don't think I received as much as last year though, but it's still money and every dollar counts!  My parents also gave me money, but there was a ritual to it.  I have to give a cup of tea to my dad and then I refill it a little more to receive more fortune.  Then I repeat the ritual to my mom.

Hey dudsons,

Today was an average school day, which started off with PE.  I think I didn't eat enough breakfast, as because I didn't feel like I had the energy to run three laps today.  On the bright side, we were supposed to run Langara, but due to the amount of people missing (they were doing a math contest), we did our regular three laps instead.  I bet if I did the Langara run, I would die.  Anyways, we embarked on on new journey on weightlifting.  Some machines were easy, but some were pretty hard, eg. the incline bench press. That was pretty difficult, especially since I have scrawny arms.

We got back our results for science fair.  I was really nervous to see my results, but at the same time fervent.  I didn't do that bad; I got 91%.  I'm just happy that I didn't fail.  Actually someone did fail it with a 49%, but not going to point out anybody here.

For socials, we had this group test.  That was unexpected.  I think my group did okay, but there were things I know that we could improve on.  Some parts were easy though, like labeling different countries using an atlas.  Some parts were a little challenging; for example, writing out five rules to follow by for Synergy students.

I have mixed emotions on French.  We watched the same video for three times straight and it was quite boring.  We don't need to watch a video for three times straight to learn!  Plus, the information in it was pretty basic.  I won't be surprised if we watch it again next time.  *sigh*

I went to a restaurant for dinner tonight with my aunt, uncle, and cousins.  I think I ate too much, because right now I feel a little bloated.

Here's a cool fact that I do not know whether it is true or not from the internet:

Hey dudsons,

Today's my birthday, happy birthday to me, I'm a hundred and three, I look like a monkey, and I love my mommy!

Sorry for that moment of randomness.  My friends decorated my locker, so thank you Jan, Sam, and Amie!  All my good memories were on my locker.  I don't think I'll ever take it off.

Today started off with music, and we have to compose a song by ourselves!  This is horrible, I don't think I'll survive.  I hate composing because I don't have the mind to create awesome little songs that will earn me an A.  Anyways, the next few classes we are going to focus on that.

I found a near my locker with my name in it.  Not going into detail, but is someone out there to get me?  (Just Kidding)

Hey dudsons,

Tomorrow's my birthday.....happy early birthday to me!  Today was also a special day in the Chinese New Year.  I woke up at approximately 8:30 in the morning, but I didn't really feel tired.  I helped my mom prepare some New Year's food and cleaned the house a little bit.

At around 1:30, I went to Richmond Centre to walk around with my friends.  I bought them food, since it was my birthday.  I didn't really buy much; I only bought a pair of earrings and nail polish remover.  I did get free lipsticks from Sephora, so that was a plus.  I went to the food court and I bought butter chicken rice.  It was really yummy and I could eat it all day long.

My grandparents, my aunt, and my cousin came to my house for dinner, as part of a Chinese New Year get-together thing that's supposed to be good luck.  I guess it could be a birthday celebration for me too.  We had shrimp, chicken, fish, fried pork, and many other good traditional dishes.  At the end, we had mango mousse cake, which is my favourite kind of cake, other than chocolate ice cream cake.   Overall, it was a happy and fun night.

Ugh school tomorrow! *sarcastic voice* I just can't wait to get up while it's still dark outside!  I can't wait to drag myself to school and look like a complete zombie!  I can't wait for everything!

Hey dudsons,

I want to write about something else then my daily activities, but I have no ideas.  I guess I'm a bad blogger, am I?

Anyways, tomorrow's Valentine's Day and we had some Valentine's activities going around at school.  There was a "King of Hearts" game, where each girl in the school had a heart, and if she talks to a boy (excluding class time), then the boy gets to take her heart.  I think the boy who achieves the most hearts is named the "King of Hearts", but I'm not too sure on that one.  Now that I look back, this game was kind of pointless, and I don't know why I even participated :P.

Now the other Valentine's Day event was grams.  As in candy grams, roses, that kind of thing. Surprisingly three people in the Synergy class got it.  One was for Amie, one for Andrew W., and one for Yushi.  The one for Andrew was kind of mean though, and he didn't really enjoy it.

I watched "Blended", a movie starring Adam Sandler (one of my favourite actors) and Drew Barrymore.  It was a great movie, and funny at times.  I would recommend this movie, although I believe that Grown Ups is a better Adam Sandler movie.

Hey dudsons,

Happy Family Day!  I didn't spend much time with family today, however.  I spent most of the day at a classmate's house doing work on a socials project, which is due in about 2 weeks.  However long that might sound like, I don't think it's enough time, especially if we procrastinate (which I hope we don't).  Anyways, I spent a lot of time with my family yesterday, so I guess that that makes up for today.

Countdown to happiness:

3 more days until there's a day at school where we go off at 2:15
23 more days until a collab day
26 more days until spring break!

(Don't mind that buffet restaurant there)

Hey dudsons,

Today I am going to tell you people a terrifying experience that I have endured about a year ago in China.  I was just wearing my sneakers and I was out the door waiting for the elevator,  (I was staying at my aunt's apartment).  I felt something something like a rock in my shoe, so naturally, I took off my shoe to shake the rock out.  However, when I shook it out, a huge cockroach jumped out and literally scared me to death.  I admit that I even cried, but luckily my dad killed it.  It was a terrifying experience, adding on that I have a huge fear of any bugs.  Something as harmless as ants even scare me.

The bug kind of looked like this, if not a little bit larger.

I HATE BUGS. -_-

Hey dudsons,

Today started off with music!  The student teacher finally started teaching us and he taught us a song called "Northern Lights" by Elliot Brood.  It's kind of like a country song, but I'm not pretty sure.  The chords were easy enough, but the strumming part was really fast, so it confused me at times.

I finally had my Book Talk today.  I think I did okay, but I didn't look at the audience much, because I was too nervous (plus, I really needed to go to the washroom at the time)  Everyone had their book talks except for one person, who had to go to a doctor's appointment.

Then it was math.  But nothing happened much there.

Applied Skills!  My crow inquiry finally got approved....so I'll start working on that soon.

Ugh I have a science test tomorrow...bye!
